  • Peptic Ulcers: Helps heal ulcers by reducing stomach acid, allowing the lining to repair.
  • Helicobacter pylori Eradication: Often used in combination with antibiotics to treat H. pylori infections.

Precautions:

  • Long-Term Use: Prolonged use may lead to vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fractures, and an increased risk of gastrointestinal infections.
  • Kidney Function: Monitor renal function in long-term use or in patients with existing kidney issues.
  • Interactions: May interact with certain medications, such as warfarin and some antifungals.
